Objective
To develop two heat maps: one identifying service providers offering myopia care and another highlighting high risk populations for myopia. Additionally, an AI-based algorithm will recommend suitable myopia care services based on various factors, including location, business hours, cultural background of practitioners, and types of treatments provided
Background
Myopia is an increasingly prevalent condition, and access to appropriate care is essential for effective management. Identifying areas with high-risk populations and mapping out available service providers can help in bridging the gap between need and service provision. This project leverages technology to create a user-friendly tool for optimizing myopia care.

Data Collection
- Gather data on service providers offering myopia care, including their locations, business hours, cultural backgrounds, and treatment types.
- Collect demographic and epidemiological data to identify high-risk populations for myopia.
Heat Map Development
- Create a heat map visualizing the geographical distribution of myopia care service providers.
- Develop a separate heat map indicating high-risk populations based on survey data
AI Algorithm Development
- Design and train the algorithm to recommend services based on the user’s preferences
- Integrate the AI algorithm with the heat maps to provide tailored recommendations.
User Interface Design
- Develop an intuitive user interface for easy access to the heat maps and AI recommendations.
- Ensure the interface is accessible on multiple platforms, including mobile and desktop.
Testing and Refinement
- Conduct usability testing with Myopia2050 members and other stakeholders.
- Refine the heat maps and AI algorithm based on feedback to improve accuracy and user experience.
Deployment & Outreach
- Launch the heat map and AI recommendation tool on the Myopia2050 website and mobile app.
- Promote the tool through social media, educational campaigns, and collaborations with healthcare providers.
